Feb. 8th, 2009 09:41 pmAmazon will be the death of my economy. I bought Bolano's 2666 and am savouring it. If I end up hating the rest of it, I swore silently to myself that I would love him for his introduction; Those scathing descriptions of 'the critics'! I'll have to quote him when I bother to update next. I don't quite know what to make of it yet, but it keeps me enthralled. Which is a very good thing. Djuna Barnes' Nightwood caught my interest and arrived with another Bolano book, and more Nabokov. Modernism!
We've been out bathing in the snow with the creature today. He is so sweet when he jumps into it, frolicing around completely uninhibited. My hair is perfect at last. It's the same reddish brown as last time, the a-line of perfect length. I couldn't be happier with it! Now I'm watching Match Point, avoiding boring coursework. I haven't read half of what I should have, we haven't exercised for, er, three weeks? No wonder I feel decadent.
