Sustained Criticism

I've decided I'm wearing my new teal (well, blue teal, maybe it's more turquoise) trench-y coat. It's a reward for finishing this damned English Civlisation paper. And I'm breaking out the D&G's again, with back-ups in the handbag. Going out for the most decadent lunch in the world, croissant filled with warm, just-melted chocolate (poured into it from a chocolate fountain, very Willy Wonka).

There, how's that for a totally useless update? My brain is caught up in WW1 and building bibliographies.

I've just realised that I am part of a great female plot. Meeting someone wearing the same top you are, you give each other the once over. It does, thankfully, not happen very often. If you find the other wears the top well, or in a way you hadn't thought of, you smile; "I like your style", or "I must wear it like that sometime".

With the exception of a much too high dosage of semantics, grammar and general lingvistics, University is fun. I have too much coffee, talk too much, read pittifully little. And I buy too many shoes. Breath-taking Oxfords, from Patrizia Pepe's autumn/winter line. And the pair of C'N'C sandals I coveted so this summer, at 70% off. Yum!

We're going out tonight, sort of to celebrate summer before everyone runs off for various vacations. We haven't been out dancing for ages, so I'm all gigglish. But, I haven't a stitch to wear. Blargh. So, off I go to paint my nails in Chanel's infamous Blue 461, and do smokey eyes in matching blues. But what the hell to wear?

Edit: I found an outfit :] Though I would love to wear it, I don't think a Lippy Uniform will go too well with the crowd at "Gossip Room", so, it's a black dress and loads of dangly thingies.

I'm approaching flabbergasted, again. It seems elbow-length gloves are in. Feminine, sophisticated, dark colours, gray, high heels, pale skin, red lips, dark eyes are all in. Lace-up boots are in, and slim, beautiful coats. What on earth is going on? Did I, perhaps, fail to mention that the bob is conquering Norway? (Some 4 centimetres now, and I am part of the movement at last.)

My plan of finding some beautiful leather belts to cinch my waist with are now completely out of the question, I will look like I am trying to be fashionable. I will, however, I still think, wrap myself up in over-sized knitwear over jeans and heels. And I will under no circumstances lay off my coats. Particularly not the one with the three quarter length arms.

On the other hand, what I like turning high fashion is always positive in the sense that I can get the garments I want and that suit me. (How I want a Burberry coat. I need a well-payed job.) And I think I might have to clean my room up a bit later, and do something about the chaos my make-up has fallen into. Whatever is the point of having expensive make-up in pretty packages if not displaying it?
