Somehow survived a four course lunch, delicious! Various antipasti: spicy italian sausages, foies gras and pork paté, an octopus salad I skipped (it is the one kind of seafood I do not eat) and a slice ham with tuna sauce. Then lobster raviolo, deer on a bean-purée with a baked risotto. And finally a chocolate fondant with cherries, cream and a red fruit sauce. Now I'm half delirious with wine and too much desert. I might turn into a foodie.

I promised father I'd upgrade our stationary computer to Snow Leopard, so I'll prepare what needs to be prepared and let it run its course. And head upstairs to be a vegetable in front of the fireplace and read DeLillo, Cosmopolis.

Actually, I had mistaken you for somebody else on my friends list when I commented on this post. The cover I recommended is metal, I don't even know whether you like metal. :o

But thank you for adding me. Although I'm afraid my journal won't be of much interest to you, as most of my posts are in Dutch. The images are, of course, in an universal language. ;-)

I really like your journal. In a way it reconnects me with my past - I also studied linguistics and literature. It makes me happy to see someone really caring about texts, and words and language. Someone actually loving what she does - most of my fellow college students were very apathic. When I started college I had expected to see more passionate people, people with that spark for literature (and all other beautiful and worth wile things in life).

I had a period where I listened to nothing but metal, so metal is just fine by me :] And the cover really is quite cool, thank you.

You'll be surprised by how much of Dutch I can piece together, being Norwegian. And you seem to post a great deal of very interesting images, so if you don't mind my occasional English comments I'll just keep peeking at them.

Aw, that's very sweet. Sadly, passionate people seem to be at a disadvantage in general: not only as we a minority, people do just not understand why we react so strongly. Had hoped to find the same kind of people you describe, but unearthing even just a handful has been difficult. I am, however, glad to see that you are of the same persuasion. :]
