Veronika Decides to Disappoint

niriniaCoelho must be an exceedingly simple man to translate: there is no complicated sentences, not a semicolon in sight; More than anything it resembles a badly written, half-finished philosophy textbook. In other words, I finally found "Veronika Decides to Die", and I'm not impressed. The narrative irks me, too, I think. I'm such a literature snob.
And I got 6 on "The Other Foot", and as a final grade in English VK1, despite it not being quite fair. But, as my teacher so expertly pointed out, had she given me a task to even things out, I would've excelled, and got my 6, either way. Also, taking the examiner into account, I deserved the 6 I got on my oral English exam. I'm so relieved, now I can rid myself of the feeling that I somehow cheated the system.
