Harry Potter, drawing to a close
Aug. 9th, 2009 10:19 amHarry Potter: does not to the story justice, but is a beautiful film, cinematographically and filmatographically. The colours, the angles! Solved the pensieve-scenes very elegantly. The trio disappoints as actors.
Although grint does decently as comic relief, that's all he's allowed to be. Watson is too busy being pretty, a curse of young, particularly female actors. Radcliff shows no emotion; come on, I tore at my hair and did not know what to do with myself when my dog died, dumbledore is his menthor, and an important father figure. That's all you've got to offer when you see him die? Tom felton was superb. And rickman, both very good portraials of conflicted, interesting characters.
That, I think, is part of the reason I dislike the final book so much: the three of them are the least interesting characters. Ergo, the camping trip doesn't work.
Have been on my feet all day, and have eaten badly. I'm so tired I think I could sleep where I stand. Hardcore shopping used to be one of my fortes, I could keep at it for hours. Now I need breaks, and coffee.
Kristine and I got incredibly giggly as the day progressed. Now someone put on Morrissey in the distance. Writing this as I wait for the subway home, will copypaste it to LJ when I get home. First Saturday in months i'm downtown, but not going out. Weird to be on the sober, albeit giggly, end of things. Wonder how many of the drunk men I would've found charming with beergoggles.
