Redecoration
Feb. 24th, 2009 10:02 pmMy room is in desperate need of something (other than a very good tidying-up, thank you, I'm very aware of that; there just isn't enough space to tidy things into). It's tiny, it's filled to bursting and I'm so sick of it. A bigger mirror, more organised vanity-area, somewhere to put my current coursebooks. And I think I want a huge picture of some sort, to hang on the wall over my bed. Or perhaps a not-so-huge, striking piece from DA, hung off-centre. A friend just refers to it as "the cupboard (not under the stairs)", and does not understand how I survive. She is also spoilt with a huge room, with a wardrobe-covered wall.
Confession: I'm tempted by long hair. I miss updoes! Buns, chignons, ponytails. Though it will take years to grow, and will be thick, miserable and hopeless to maintain. Or perhaps just longer, shoulder-length?
A few days ago I finished The Wire season four. It struck me as a longer version of Requiem for a Dream, everything goes to hell. The final shots, the contrasting of a middle-class neighbourhood to the corners. One season to go. And the madness that is Desperate Housewives goes on on television.
