I found voting for the first time to be nothing short of a surreal experience, not because the act itself was particularly awe-inspiring, but because I felt that I left my childhood outside the hall in which I left my vote. I am employed, I am in the process of completing my final year of upper secondary, I have voted at an election, I pay taxes, I drink wine, am close to a caffein-addict (how I long to see a "Starbucks" in Oslo) and I discuss.

"Grow up!" I was told a year or so ago, and I think that the rest of the world is coming to the following consensus: Alex is a young adult. At the very least, the number of red lipsticks currently scattered about my quarters must point to a certain maturity. Perhaps the rest of my intellect is finally catching up to the portions I let grow in self-defence years ago.

Apropos red lipsticks, I have gone through quite a lot of them: Dior's is not worth a second try, MAC has good pigmentation but leaves my lips dry and brittle, Shiseido's is a deep, gorgeous red with good staying-power, Estée Lauder's is none too impressive, but works well if you need to add some darker contours, Clinique I would not been caught dead wearing on its own and Guerlain's I have not yet had occasion to try. None of them are perfect on their own, but blended together with a decent brush they work wonders.

I love "Annie Liebovitz", she takes some wonderful photographs, cliché or no cliché. And a new community I found, Zelle Icons, which is where I stole my new icon/avatar.

P.S. Darlings, please, hold your wine-glasses by the stem. Everything else looks so very, very tacky.

P.P.S I need a dress. It cannot be much shorter than knee-length. And I am looking forward to finding it. I think I might want it to go with my "glass shoes", and perhaps nude(-ish) make-up.
