(no subject)

I was mistaken for a native speaker today, by our phonetics teacher. The woman has an MA in phonetics, and asked if I am a native speaker! Cue joy, furious blushing and stuttering answer. Compliments like that make all these boring obligatory courses worth it. TIME wrote that Updike died recently, and quoted an image of his: two people in a ski lift, "laughing vapour". It has stayed with me, through -13 degrees today. It's so beautifully phrased.

New York Entailed Madness

New York was astounding, huge and incredible. It also entailed Louboutins the likes of these nude ones. I am forever broke and indebted to my parents, but they are divine. And I starbucked a lot.

And I have to quote an answer from Vigdis to a mail she requested I wrote her, about Blindern. I informed her about what we had been up to lately, what we were doing, how much I loved it and thanked her (profusely *g*) for the opportunity. She answered: "I am impressed and overjoyed by the quality of your English !!
Good luck with your assignment." WAAAH XD Impressed XD I impressed her XD WAHA XD My English reigns supreme (you may tear me down from my pedestal most violently later, but for now, I am very happy, very tired and very high on shoes and compliments).

More about NYC later, when I am not packing to leave for the cottage. And, Kristine, Darling, mann XD You did it! I am so proud.
